Coming up With a List of Art Supplies
If you know that you need art supplies but are not sure which ones you actually need, then the best idea is to come up with a list of art supplies. This will not only help you to stay organized and remember what you need once you get to the art supplies store, but will also help you to stick to your budget and only spend what you can afford.
Making Your List of Art Supplies
When it comes to making your list of art supplies, the first thing you want to do is set out a budget for yourself. After all there are literally thousands of different art supplies you can choose from, so you would really never be able to make any decisions if you just randomly went to any art store and tried to figure it out there.
To get started on your list of art supplies you will also want to consider what type of art you are going to be working with. Painting and framing are going to require different art supplies for instance, so you are going to have to know what you want to do before you can determine what supplies you are going to need for it.
Remember that as an artist it is essential that you have the right art supplies, and also that you use them in the right way. It is important to realize that it is well worth it to spend a bit of extra money if it means that you are going to be getting higher quality supplies.
Choosing Your Brushes
One of the most difficult art supplies to decide on is the art brush. This is because there are literally hundreds of different choices, not to mention hundreds of different manufacturers. There are many types of hair that these brushes are made of, including natural, weasel, fitch, mongoose, badger, sabeline, pony, goat, and camel hair.
You may want to go with synthetic hair art brushes, and there are many advantages offered by these. For one they are usually less expensive and so if you are on a tight budget they make an ideal choice. They are also much easier to clean, as synthetic hairs do not have an animal cell structure and so paint is not trapped in the hairs as easily.
It will be well worth it for you to make a list of art supplies before heading out so that the process will be as easy as possible and so that you only spend as much money as you need to.
