Collecting Colorful Scrapbooking Pens

Published by Author at 2:04 pm under Scrapbooking

If you’re someone who’s into scrapbooking, then you already understand the complexities that go into making sure you’ve got the supplies you need to successfully pull off your projects. But whether you are new to the world of scrapbooking or whether you’ve been doing it for years, there is no doubt that a good set of scrapbooking pens are essential to completing your projects.

Of course you can complete scrapbooking projects using regular pens or pencils, maybe even no writing utensils at all. But the truth is that anyone who scraps will find a time that comes where regular pens or pencils don’t give you the effect you’re looking for. In cases like these, scrapbooking pens are necessary and will prove to be extremely useful in many more projects to come.

How to Get Your Collection Going

In order to collect the best set of scrapbooking pens to meet your needs, try not to buy all your pens in one already assembled set. Although scrapbooking pen sets tend to be a good deal overall for your money, they also tend to be average collections with standard colors, sizes and styles.

While there’s nothing wrong with owning a standard scrapbooking pen set, it’s important to know what your options really are before making a purchase. A good tip to remember is to mix and match smaller sets. You can create your own custom scrapbooking pen set that not only meets all of your needs, but offers plenty of opportunity to create scrapbooking projects of many different styles and themes.

Another good reason to buy scrapbooking pens in smaller amounts to build up your own collection is because you can continuously add special and unique items to your collection without risking the chance of overcrowding your workspace.

Where to Find Them

Obviously local scrapbooking stores can get you started. But remember, the point of creating your own collection is so that it offers you the unique things you specifically need for your projects. With standard scrapbooking pen sets, you aren’t afforded this opportunity.

What you can do, is find rare items for your collection through places like eBay and Amazon. However if you’re not into purchasing things from the internet, there are always your local craft stores and places you may not have thought of. These places include local thrift stores, garage sales, school auctions, preschool stores and even drug stores!

If you keep an open mind and you have some creativity, there’s bound to be many treasures you can find even when shopping at places you least expect to find them.
